England, Cotswold Way walk, 2011

Starting in Chipping Campden, the Cotswold Way is 100 miles of paths, mostly on trails, through the charming English countryside.

The official start is the old market place.

The charming village homes are built from the local honey-colored stone.

Chipping Campden had many thatched roofs.

One of my delightful hostesses.

Rabbits.

A church gargoyle.

There is a butterfly reserve to walk through.

This is a thatched roof mail drop, fully restored.

One of my lovely B&B hostesses. She has lived here her whole life.

This is her family farm. She and her sister are the only ones still here.

Such a beautiful countryside!

William Tyndale, who was first translated the New Testament into English, lived here. He was killed for his efforts!

A deer in the country.

The end of the trail is in Bath. From here we take a small van to Stonehenge. We glimpsed one of the white horses carved in the hillside on the way. I did have high tea in the Pump Room in Bath and visit the Jane Austin House museum. While there, I bought her first novel and read it.
