Flight over Mt. Cook on the South Island, New Zealand

 Glacier fed lake.

 Glacier

The flat top of the mountain is Mt. Cook.
The moisture drops on the west side of the mountain. The east side is desert-like.

 This was a 45-minute flight.

The mount in the foreground has an observatory used by the USA and Great Britian as well. I went on a tour in the middle of the night, which was really interesting.
